Our Story
Sooner Medical Staffing was founded in 2008 by three partners who recognized a growing challenge facing healthcare facilities across Oklahoma — chronic staffing shortages in nursing homes and long-term care settings.
These men, driven by a desire to ensure that elderly family members and loved ones received the care, attention, and dignity they deserved, set out to provide dependable staffing support to facilities throughout the state. In the early years, the founders personally answered calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, helping nursing homes, long-term care centers, and memory care facilities fill critical staffing gaps whenever they arose.
What began as a mission to support some of Oklahoma’s most vulnerable residents grew into a trusted healthcare staffing company serving a wide range of healthcare environments. Today, Sooner Medical Staffing continues to provide the same responsive, people-first service while supporting facilities across Oklahoma and the Midwest. We now also serve correctional healthcare facilities, as well as various long-term care settings.

Laura Jacobs – Sooner Medical Staffing Director
Laura Jacobs began working with Sooner Medical Staffing in November 2010, helping with staffing, human resources, marketing, and payroll. Today, she is the company’s Director, responsible for the overall leadership, growth, and day-to-day operations. Laura began working in the medical field in 1991. She started as a Dietary Aide in a nursing home and later became an EMT.
